Jointly held by Japan Patent Office (JPO), the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) of the People’s Republic of China and Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO), an IPR symposium of small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) of China, Japan and South Korea was held in JPO in Tokyo, Japan recently.
Intellectual property officials, SME representatives, patent agencies and service organizations of the three countries attended the symposium. Masahiro Koezuka, Commissioner of JPO, delivered an opening speech. Representatives from JPO, SIPO and KIPO introduced the measures their respective governments had taken to support IP-related SMEs, and enterprise representatives from the three countries also briefed their experience in IP application and management.
Lu Yi, Deputy Inspector of the Coordination and Administration Department of SIPO, who is also the head of Chinese delegation, addressed the symposium. Li Dongya, IPR Consultant of Beijing Vimicro Electronics Corp. delivered a speech entitled Chinese SMEs’ IPR Application and Management.
The symposium was held in an interactive manner, including discussions and asking questions.
In Japan, Chinese delegation also visited JPO National Center for Industrial Property Information and Training and Design Division, exchanged views with Japan Institute of Invention and Innovation, visited Kansai Patent Information Center, the Headquarters of Yokoso Intellectual Property Strategy, Yokoso Branch of Japanese Association of IP Agencies and Osaka Intellectual Property Center, and talked with representatives from five Japanese SMEs.
